Frequently asked questions

My child has never played soccer, is this the right program?

Yes, whether they have never played, or they have some introduction already, this program is designed for both type of players in mind

What does my child need to bring to soccer class?

Water, shin guards, soccer socks (over shin guards), and a ball is all they need

What size ball should they use at this age?

A size 3 or size 4 is appropriate

What happens if I miss a class?

We understand schedules can get hectic. If you cannot make it, simply let us know. We will provide you a credit towards the next session of classes

Does my child need to be part of a “competitive club” in order to receive the best soccer training at this age?

As a former club director, the answer is NO. Most clubs do not have qualified or knowledgeable coaches at these ages. This often leads to a poor first impression on kids. Club and travel soccer is recommended once your child has shown their willingness to continue playing, typically around the ages of 8 or 9 years old

Why is there an emphasis on the player to coach ratio?

Many clubs tend to group players in numbers greater than 10+, while only having 1 coach present. Often, this is done as a cost saving measure. Unfortunately, it has a very poor result. Kids at these ages require constant attention and direction. They will need 1 on 1 support more often than not. They are, after all, learning a whole new world in a sense. The more personal interaction between a coach and player, the stronger the positive experience will be.
